Explanation of Repair Charges

We invite you to fully understand the cost of diagnosing and repairing a broken appliance. Our clients receive fair and competitive prices for the technical knowledge and service we provide. The following is an explanation of what we charge for our services and why.

We want our clients to know that in the technically challenging world that we live in, our lives and our machines have become more complicated than ever. Major appliance repair has become a profession requiring highly developed skills and technology that was not needed years ago. Experienced, factory-trained technicians will always save you money and aggravation in the long run. Hiring someone that is “handy” but not a trained professional in the hopes of saving money may seem like a good idea, but it may cost you far more than any perceived savings. Limited knowledge is extremely dangerous regarding major appliances. The professional level of expertise must be maintained through constant training from national trade and manufacturer seminars, to obtaining and reviewing technical literature, and the use of notebook computers for access to the most current technical information. Although you may only see one technician, you are linked to an entire professional organization.

We trust that you will be able to make the decision to choose An Appliance Authority for your appliance repair needs, AAA Appliance Service Center.

Trip & Diagnostic
The trip is a standard industry fee for the technician to travel to the jobsite. Only at AAA Appliance Service Center (ASC) is it only applied to the service ONCE!
We have a standard rate throughout the Chicago metropolitan area based on the appliance. Our standard rates insure that no matter where you are in the metropolitan area, ASC trip charge rates are fair and equitable! A surcharge will apply to locations within the Chicago Loop due to the associated costs related to the loop area transit, laws and parking restrictions.
This cost also includes the labor involved in diagnosing the appliance. You won’t ever have to worry about watching the clock or an hourly rate!
Appliance Add-On
If there is a second or third appliance that is malfunctioning, ASC won’t double the trip charge!
For example, if your refrigerator and dishwasher are both malfunctioning, it is only a $25 for the additional appliance diagnosis. Again, this is a onetime charge.
Material (Parts)
This is the cost of the parts needed for your repair. ASC gives our clients real quotes before any repair begins. We do offer a one year warranty on all parts.
If the service is cancelled after the part is ordered we do charge a 20% restocking fee. Electrical parts, if opened, are not returnable under any circumstances.
Sales Tax
Sales tax is charged on materials only.
Technical Labor
The labor charge is the actual technical labor involved in replacing the parts or performing the repair. Our customers have no surprises, the cost of labor is provided (along with the parts cost) before any work is started. ASC allows our clients to understand what the final cost will be for the repair before we begin for their peace of mind. The labor rate is based on the National Flat Rate Price Guide. The Price Guide is based on data accumulated over the last 60 years. ASC labor is NOT time based.
ASC offers the longest labor warranty in the appliance repair service industry! ASC offers a one year warranty on labor.*

* ASC cannot warranty work based on another company or person’s diagnosis of the appliance.
